Wow! Jackie Dailey Cottrell has been with Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) for 18 years. Jackie has been Roberts’ Chief of Staff since 2003 and before that served as his Deputy Chief of Staff and as his Press Secretary. But Cottrell is now stepping down from the helm of the retiring Republican senator’s staff.
“When I accepted the job with then-Congressman Pat Roberts 25 years ago, I could never have imagined the doors he would have opened for me,” Cottrell told WIBW-13.
“He trusted me to make decisions. He empowered me to aim high and achieve results. He gave me a seat at the table early on when women were still often sitting on the back benches on Capitol Hill. There’s no way to express my gratitude for the public service career I’ve had or the history I have been able to witness,” Cottrell said.
Caroline Burns moves to the staff of Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) as Deputy Director for Digital Media. Caroline comes from the digital media/marketing world, having previously worked for CQ-Roll Call and before that for Washingtonian Media, Inc. She earned her BS in communications studies and public relations in 2013 from James Madison University.
Jefferson Willis is the new Legislative Assistant working for Sen. Mike Enzi (R-WY). This is Jefferson’s Capitol Hill debut as he previously worked for KPMG LLP as a Senior Tax Associate. Jefferson earned a Master’s degree in taxation in 2016 from the University of Mississippi and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2015 from the famous school in Mr. Faulkner’s Oxford.
Kelly Rodriquez is also making her debut on the Hill, assuming duties as Trade and Labor Oversight Counsel for the House Ways and Means Committee’s trade subcommittee, working for Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR). Kelly’s law degree is from the City University of New York School of Law in 2012. She received her BA in Spanish and International Studies from Hartford College in 2003.
Tony Eberhard takes over as Chief of Staff for Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND) in a return engagement after a three-year absence while serving as a Vice President for the International Dairy Foods Association. Before that, Tony was Legislative Director for Hoeven. He also worked previously for Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN) and two Missouri Republican congressmen. Tony’s BS in political science was awarded by Truman State University in 2001.
