Alex Swann is the new Scheduler/Executive Assistant for Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV). Alex previously worked as an intern for the House Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress. He is a 2016 graduate in theatre from Reed College.
Joining the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee as a Professional Staff Member is Lucy Koch, moving up from a research assistant position for Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) on the same panel. Lucy is a 2017 graduate of Haverford College with a BA in Spanish and economics.
Got a press question for Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas)? The new Communications Director/Senior Adviser you want to talk to there these days is Alex Sarabia.Alex started out in D.C. as an intern for Castro, then served stints with Julian Castro’s presidential effort and with Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s White House bid. He is a 2017 MPP graduate of the University of Chicago and earned his BA in economics from Boston College.
William Fuerst’s work on Capitol Hill began in September 2019 with a stint as an intern for Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI). Now Fuerst is Upton’s Deputy Press Secretary. Quickest way to get William’s attention may well be to yell “Go Blue,” as he earned his BA in political science fro the University of Michigan, where he played in the school’s marching band.
Do not Miss This!
Ever wonder what a “Tushy” might be? Just ask John Noonan, who labors as a Defense Policy Adviser for Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). Noonan also, according to Kathryn Lyons of Roll Call, gave Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) some editing assistance on a new book. Crenshaw’s gift of appreciation to Noonan just might crack you up (That’s a clean joke, I promise!).
LOOKING FOR A HILL JOB?
Check out this five-part HillFaith series by Bret Bernhardt, former chief of staff for Senators Don Nickle (R-Okla.) and Jim DeMint (R-S.C.). Bernhardt has a wealth of experience, insider insight, how-tos and obscure terms (know what a “golden reference” is on the Hill?), plus lots of helpful links.
